This Privacy Policy explains how Rodrick Classes, Degree College Road, Chadoora, Jammu and Kashmir, India ("Rodrick Classes", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Rodrick Classes Android app (package lms.rodrickclasses.com) and our website rodrickclasses.com. The app is for enrolled students, their parents or guardians, and our teaching and administrative staff.
1. Information we collect
The app shows information that Rodrick Classes already holds about you in its school management system. It does not collect anything beyond what is needed to run your account and classes.
- Account details: name, username, class and section, roll or admission number, parent or guardian name, phone number, email address and profile photo, as entered by the institute.
- Academic records: attendance, timetable, homework, exam results, fee status and receipts, notices, and study material.
- Files you choose to upload: for example homework or assignment submissions. The app accesses photos, videos, audio or documents on your device only when you pick them, or when you download study material to your device.
- Device and notification data: a push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you notices, fee reminders and class updates.
- Technical data: basic server logs such as IP address and time of access, used for security and troubleshooting.
We do not collect your location, contacts, microphone or camera data, and we do not show advertisements in the app.
2. How we use information
- To let you sign in and view your classes, attendance, results, fees and notices.
- To send you notifications about your studies and the institute.
- To keep the app and our systems secure and working properly.
- To meet legal or regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
3. Sharing
Your information is visible to authorised staff of Rodrick Classes, and a student's information is visible to the linked parent or guardian account. We share information with the following service providers only as needed to run the app:
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, to deliver push notifications.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the data on its servers.
- Payment gateways, if online fee payment is enabled. Card and bank details are handled by the gateway and are not stored by us.
We may disclose information if required by law or a valid legal request.
4. Children
Many of our students are under 18. Student accounts are created by Rodrick Classes with the knowledge of a parent or guardian, and we process their data only for their education and the running of the institute. Parents and guardians may ask to review, correct or delete a child's information at any time using the contact details below.
5. Data security and retention
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is restricted by login. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. We keep records for as long as a student is enrolled and for a reasonable period afterwards for academic and legal purposes, then delete or anonymise them.
6. Your choices and rights
- You can turn off notifications in your phone's settings.
- You can revoke file or media access in your phone's app permissions.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, or of your account, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to records we must keep by law.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.
